ABOUT CHRIS

Chris was 19, when he lost his life tragically in a 1-car accident during a wintery night in CT; he was only a quarter of a mile from the safety of his home. Chris loved his family, he was accepting of all for who they were as individuals, he was loyal to his friends, passionate about his individual interests and always met you with a smile and laugh that made you feel that life was always worth living to the fullest.

Chris had driven to a neighboring town the night he lost his life to return a wallet to a friend that had left it behind; one final act of kindness. Since then, in his name and spirit, Chris’ fund has gathered hundreds of his friends and families to promote acts of kindness throughout their communities. Bringing awareness and support to local charities, feeding the less fortunate, clothing the homeless, building homes, or simply providing a helping hand to folks that need a little extra kindness in their life at the right time.

The fund has provided annual scholarship awards to students that embodied Chris’ characteristics during their 4 years in high school; the emphasis of the award is based on character, rather than academic achievement because it was MOST important to Chris to be a good person! Ultimately, The Christopher Labbadia Memorial Fund will continue to use all of the donations it receives, for as long as it is able, to promote the gift of kindness and do everything in its part to ensure that people are Happy, Healthy & Safe - the way Chris would have wanted it.
